The old village bakehouse 'fournil' had a new fosse septique system installed in 2005 which conforms to current regulations and would allow for three bedrooms.
The roof was replaced in 2007 using traditional materials, new oak rafters, pine roof boards, breathable membrane, flat under tiles with half round over tiles and four roof windows were installed.
The main structure of the roof - three oak A-frames have been retained and along with the new woodwork have been treated for wood boring insects.
In 2009 the floor of the building was concreted on two levels using reinforcing steel. There is a steel beam running across the centre of the two levels on which an internal supporting wall could be built. Alongside this a 4" drainage pipe has been fitted which would allow for a bathroom/kitchen to be installed on either side of the building.
The original upper wooden floor was removed as it was unsafe, but when reinstated would allow for plenty of headroom under the A-frames.
There are plenty of openings around the building.
The outside area is small at around 115m², ideal for a potential holiday home as it is gravelled and does not require much maintenance. However there may be the possiblity of purchasing some adjoining land from aa neighbour if required.
The building would provide living around 225m² of living accommodation.
