Large Habitable FAMILY HOME with OUTBUILDINGS and land. At the end of a RURAL HAMLET surrounded by fields. Great and nice and quiet location
This lovely home is crying out for a family to bring colour back to its walls. It is in a hamlet in a quiet location, not overlooked with various stone outbuildings and a large hangar for storage. It has been renovated and needs some finishing touches to make it perfect.
There is a drive into the property and ample parking.
The main house is via a doorway into the fitted kitchen. From here a stairway up to 2 double bedrooms, a single bedroom or study and the master bathroom with bath WC and wash hand basin.
Back on the ground floor and from the kitchen to the right, another room which could be the formal dining room or second lounge/reading room. Through an arch to the main lounge which is very large, has stone walls, a beautiful fireplace and character beams with doors out onto the rear of the property, which has a stone extension in the process of restoration to make a utility area or ground floor bathroom. Plus another door onto the land at the front. There was a wood burning stove in the fireplace, this would need to be replaced for the heating. Another stairway from here to a large bedroom with a mezzanine area.
The property benefits from double glazing and appears to be in good general order. The drainage system would have to be checked to see if it conforms to current regulations. There is some electric heating.
This property is well worth a visit for anyone looking for a main residence in the countryside with room for the animals and a small field, plus the opportunity to expand the accommodation into gites, subject to local planning application.
Off Road Parking
With land for horses and stables
The department of Finistere has a feeling of being carved out of the earth by the sea and is the wildest area of Brittany, it is also the most western of all French departments. The name Finistere comes from the Latin phrase 'finis terrae', meaning 'land's end'.
It has the English Channel to the north, Cotes-d'Armor and Morbihan to the east, the Bay of Biscay to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Quimper, the department's capital, is located to the south and has a distinctive Breton character just like all the main towns such as Brest, Chateaulin, Morlaix and Quimper. Over a third of the area is covered with forest, moors and scrubland.
Along the coast, farmers divide their time between commercial fishing and working their small farms. To see the Fish-markets, Douarnenez is worth a visit as is Brest which is on the west coast and is also a major naval port.
